Customer Service Specialist

This is a PART-TIME Remote Customer Service job with AFI, (Alexander Forrest Investments), a mid-sized, multifamily real-estate management company located in Columbia, MO. Even though the job description states “Remote – Columbia, MO”, you can work anywhere within the USA.

AFI is seeking to hire a charismatic, people-friendly, and energetic individual to serve as a Customer Service Specialist! This role is almost entirely Client/Customer-Facing and chosen applicant must feel very comfortable communicating eloquently about often complex and challenging issues. This role will be responsible for collating customer queries, collaborating with other AFI Staff to ensure prompt resolution of received issues, and communicate directly with Property Owners & other Stakeholders regarding various items.


  • Receipt and Tracking of Owner & Client issues
  • Drive resolution of issues with other AFI Team Members
  • Communication with Owners directly regarding submitted queries
  • Creation of Standard Operating Procedures regarding resolution of FAQs
  • Training of other staff as needed to drive timely response and resolution


  • Previous experience in Customer Service & Management
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Natural desire to resolve issues with URGENCY
  • College education preferred
  • Must be willing to complete pre-employment drug test and background screening

This is a PART-TIME position limited to no greater than 30 compensable hours per week. This position comes with a base salary that is based upon experience ranging between $20-$30/hr.


PART-TIME work from home job at Cambium: You will work 20-25 hours per week, reporting to the to the Sr. Manager of Creative Services and work closely with Campaign Managers, Product Marketing, Customer Marketing, and eCommerce to create copy that represents the Learning A-Z voice and follows messaging templates and brand guidelines for outbound marketing campaigns, digital content, and thought leadership.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Utilizes deep market understandings to quickly interpret creative briefs to develop and produce creative copy through execution on assigned projects.
  • Researches and understands the needs and target audiences, through online searches, reviews of existing research, interviews with subject matter experts, and in-person meetings.
  • Writes original copy and edits content for a range of corporate marketing and communications materials.
  • Collaborates with a team of marketing managers and creative staff from concept development to delivery of final product.
  • Presents copy concepts and final deliverables to internal team, and to stakeholders in other departments as needed.
  • Revises copy based on internal and client feedback/direction.
  • Interprets creative briefs to develop and produce creative concepts through execution on assigned brands.

Job Requirements:

  • 2 or 4-year degree in English, Journalism, Creative Writing, or Marketing; or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of copywriting experience with an education company or similar
  • Self-starter who can manage multiple deadlines comfortably
  • Comfort in working in a fully remote environment
  • Must be familiar with the Science of Reading; experience with K-5 education or early literacy is strongly preferred
